You're never too old to ride one

Like most people say, age is just a number. Here are some of the inspiring men and women whom I've encountered on my trip to Genting, Malaysia. And their motto; Live life to the fullest!

SSSSSSSWEEEEEEEET! =)

TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

THIS GUYS IS IN LOVE WITH YOU PARE... BADING na BADING SAYO... =)

Love is Blind or Lovers are Blind?

This is what welcomed us when we got to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on our last trip. Taken outside the arrival gate, just beside the street.

" People say that you're no good for me
People say it constantly
I hear it said so much I repeat it in my sleep

Maybe I am just a fool for you
Maybe youre no angel too
But all that talk is cheap
When Im alone with you

If love is blind
Ill find my way with you
Cause I cant see myself
Not in love with you
If love is blind
Ill find my way with you "

My Movie Reviews

ANGELS AND DEMONS

I haven’t read the book yet unlike to that of the first movie, The Da Vinci Code. My friend Suzzy, who had already read the book said that, the movie didn’t had much of what was going on in the book. She was a bit disappointed. Like many, I usually read the book first before watching the movie version of it. But sometimes, when my laziness gets the better of me, I just go watch the movie first and then read the book. This way, I can already picture out my characters, the plot, and etc. Obviously, this one is the latter. I watched it yesterday with a friend and it was great. The movie had an interesting storyline, action, suspense, mystery and Ewan McGregor in it. It made me wish I had watched the live telecast when Pope Benedict XVI was announced successor of the late Pope. This is a must-see movie and I rate it 4/5 stars.

STAR TREK

“Space, the final frontier. These are the voyagers of the Starship Enterprise. Its mission; to explore strange new worlds… to seek out new life and new civilizations… to boldly go where no man has gone before… ”

I can proudly say that I am a fan; series and movies. I remember back in the days, my dad and me used to watch the series together. My mom would usually say, “If you keep watching that (referring to the alien race Klingons) your face will become like that someday.” Of course, it didn’t have an effect on me. I heard the movie is nice so I watched it this afternoon. It was awesome. The special effects as expected were superb. Plus they had Leonard Nimoy, the original Spok, in the movie. Classic! Although, I was actually expecting to see more alien races onboard the vessel. Nevertheless, I think it lived up to the expectation of the previous Star Trek movies and series. This movie is worth your every penny to watch. I rate this 4.5/5 stars.

SO THERE I WAS....

Today, I went straight to Orchard after work to meet up a friend. Drew, got a cool deal from buying Havaianas sandals/slippers, which apparently come with two free movie tickets. We didn’t really plan on what to watch. It was only when we got to Cineleisure that we decided to check out, Confessions of a Shopaholic based on a novel by Sophie Kinsella.

Isla Fisher starred as Rebecca Bloomwood, a bubbly New Yorker who is also a fun-loving girl addicted to shopping that landed her on a credit card debt crisis. She dreams of working for her favorite fashion magazine, Allette, but on a twist of fate ended up with a career as an advice columnist for financial magazine, at the same publishing company, which she thinks still may be her ticket to Alette. She then fell in love with his good looking and British accent boss, Hugh Dancy as Luke Brandon, who thinks the debt collector, Robert Stanton as Derek Smeath, is her stalking ex-boyfriend. The movie was overall funny, colorful (literally), romantic, glamorous, interesting and a really feel-good movie to watch.

I’ve learned quite a lot from the movie; that anything green should never be paired with anything yellow, or else…That there is a big difference between cost and worth… That it’s never good to lie, unless you can really pull it off… That Joan Cusack really looks old now, especially in the movie. And lastly, that having 4 different credit cards is really a great convenience... I would’ve wanted to watch the movie over and over again, but then I realized that I was not in the Philippines. Watching the movie again and again would be very expensive here in Singapore, because then it would mean that I will have to pay again. I rate this movie 8.5, 10 being the highest.

25 Random Things about Me

1.) I had enough office drama today. Phew! Good thing I’m off tomorrow and on leave this Friday.

2.) Apart from Love, I believe that Trust plays a very major role in every relationship.

3.) I don’t believe in long distance relationship. It’s all crap! It will never work out. Eventually, one will give in to the physical longing. It’s inevitable.

4.) I like to read when I like to, but most of the time I’m lazy. I’d rather listen to audio-books.

5.) I love to sing and that’s the reason I joined a choir. I may not have a good voice but singing is my passion. Naks! constructive criticism only please. hehehe

6.) Believe or not, I have stage fright. I’m trying to slowly overcome it.

7.) I always put lotion on my feet before I sleep. Forget the other body parts but not the feet.

8.) I’m sexually active. My car can attest to that. Hehehe

9.) I would like to have kids someday but I don’t see myself getting married. How?! hhmmm... I think I better start saving up for either artificial insemination or adaption.

10.) I’m always up for a challenge. I took up an Engineering course even though I hate Math - I graduated BS Comp E. I joined the CAT training in high school even though many said I wasn’t fit for it - I became an officer.

11.) I would like to think that I’m a mature and an independent person now more than ever.

12.) I miss my family in Cebu, specially my mom.

13.) I am a frustrated cook. I like to experiment with food whenever I have the time to do so. My dad is the best cook in our family.

14.) I love my two sisters.

15.) I don’t go to work on my birthday, no matter what happens. *wink*

16.) To work in Singapore was the hardest decision I’ve ever made. Leaving my mom and my sisters behind was never easy. However, it was the most fulfilling act I’ve ever done. In my 2 years stay here, away from home, I’ve learned so many things in life.

17.) I will never desert my family for anything or for anyone. For me, family comes first.

18.) I like watching movies and TV series (animes included). Some of my favourites are Naruto, Bleach, X-men, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Ben10 and whole a lot more. I wish I had Storm’s mutant power.

19.) Most of the time I prefer to watch horror movies alone. It’s scarier that way. It’s only now that I have my friends/housemates who share the same interest so we watch it together.

20.) I want to go to Hong Kong, Disneyland this year.

21.) I think my room is infested with dust mites. Shyet! I’m doing a general cleaning this Friday.

22.) I dyed my hair black just recently.

23.) One of the most precious and most expensive things I bought here in Singapore is my laptop. I wouldn’t have survived without it.

24.) I just had chicken, spam, danggit, egg and bread for dinner.

25.) I love my friends/housemates. Cheers! It has been an awesome 2 years for us. Hoping for more great things in this year of the Ox.

WRONG NUMBER

My phone rang and woke me up in the middle of the night – 12:45am. The phone was just right beside me, so it was louder than the usual. Thinking it was my 6:15am alarm, I franticly reached for my phone, half-asleep and eyes still shut, only to find out that it wasn’t. I realized that I forgot to put my phone on silent mode (the alarm and ring tone of my phone are the same). The number kept flashing on my phone, it was a local number, and obviously it was someone whose number was not in my contact list. I was hesitant to answer it at first. But maybe, just maybe, I was thinking it could be someone I know. It might be an emergency. A bit pissed off for having been awoken earlier from my slumber, I answered with a husky voice.

Me: Hello?

Man: Hello? Si Billy ba toh? Billy! (the man said in a cheerful-excited voice)

Me: I’m sorry, wrong number.

Man: Billy! Andito ka pa ba sa Singapore? (still in a cheerful-excited voice)

Me: I’m sorry. I think you got the wrong number.

Man: Huh!? Then who's this lor? (now his voice sounded a bit fierce)

At the back of my mind I was thinking, I’m not obliged to answer his question. Why should I tell him my name? He was the one who called me. I paused for a few seconds and then sharply answered.

Me: I’m Ramon. Sorry, I think you really got the wrong number

Man: Ramon right?

And before I could say yes, the man had already hang-up the phone. What a jerk! The annoying thing is that, he never even said “sorry.” It never hurts to say sorry, especially when it’s your fault or when you know you’re bothering someone else for this matter. I think the man is educated enough to have reached Singapore. I presume that he would also have a bit of knowledge about phone etiquettes. If not, then it’s definitely time for him to learn about it. Moreover to the lack of phone etiquette, what concerned me most was that the person is a fellow countryman.
